Wynantskill Resident Named Department Chairperson for Hudson Valley Community College Nursing Program \"Photo

Carol L. Bosco
Carol L. Bosco has been named the department chairperson of the Nursing Department at Hudson Valley Community College. Bosco resides in Wynantskill with her husband, Samuel.

Bosco has been an adjunct faculty member at the college since 2002. She also has been on the Nursing faculty of Russell Sage College, Maria College and Excelsior College, and worked as nursing operations manager for Saint Peter's Hospital. While at the Excelsior College School of Nursing her responsibilities included oversight of the associate's degree distance learning program. She also worked in Albany Medical Center, Saint Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ and McLaren Hospital in Flint, Michigan.

Bosco received her associate's degree in nursing from Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan, and received both a bachelor's and master's degrees in Nursing from Russell Sage College. She currently is a doctoral candidate at the University of Arizona.

The Hudson Valley Community College program annually graduates more than 60 nurses. For more than 10 years, program graduates have exceeded state and national averages in passing the national licensing exam for registered nurses.

Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 associate's degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
