Capital District Educational Opportunity Center Hosts Free Breast Health Information Session

Bellevue Hospital will hold a free information session on “Breast Health: What’s New for You and Those You Love” on Thursday, March 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center, 30 Russell Road, Albany.
Community Liaison Judith Bowden will present an overview of the latest information on promoting good health and preventing disease. A free “brown bag” lunch is included.
The workshop was made possible by a grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Interested public may register by calling the EOC at (518) 273-1900, Ext. 2304 by March 6.
Since 1966, the Capital District EOC, a division of Hudson Valley Community College, has offered tuition-free academic and workforce development opportunities to economically disadvantaged and educationally under-prepared New York State residents.
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
