Fultonville Resident Ryan Pikcilingis Honored at Hudson Valley Community College \"Photo

Ryan Pikcilingis of Fultonville, a 2006 graduate of the Hudson Valley Community College Engineering Science program, was recently honored by the college.

Pikcilingis received the Joseph J. Smith Engineering and Science Award, which is awarded to a high-achieving graduating senior in the college’s Engineering Science curriculum. Pikcilingis, a President’s List student for all four of his semesters at Hudson Valley, plans to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the fall to study Chemical Engineering.

He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for two-year college students.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 60,000 alumni.
