Graham Knowles Named Assistant Director of Student Life at Hudson Valley Community College \"Photo

Graham Knowles of Colonie has been hired as the assistant director of student life at Hudson Valley Community College.

In that position, Knowles advises the Student Senate and oversees the activity of more than 50 student clubs at Hudson Valley. He also is responsible for managing the Student Activities Office and coordinating student development activities and opportunities.

Knowles served as the director of student life/wellness education at The College of Saint Rose in Albany from 1998 to 2004. While at Saint Rose, he planned and implemented the college's two-day overnight Summer Orientation program, as well as its Leadership Development Program.

He also served as the assistant director of campus programs and student activities at Siena College in Loudonville, where he received the Administrator of the Year award following the 1996-97 school year.

Knowles received a bachelor's degree from Saint John Fisher College and a master's degree in Education from The College of Saint Rose.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has nearly 60,000 alumni.
