Joseph L. Bruno Stadium will host the Section II high school baseball championship games for the next three years, according to a recent agreement between Section II and Hudson Valley Community College.
"We have a great relationship with Section II and look forward to continuing that relationship into the future," Hudson Valley Athletic Director Drew Marrochello said. "We had a good time hosting the tournament last year. It is a natural fit that the premier high school baseball tournament in Section II is held at the premier baseball facility in the area."
The 2004 Section II baseball championship games are scheduled for Thursday, May 27 and Friday, May 28. The D, C, and CC championship games are scheduled for Thursday, and the B, A, and AA title games are set for Friday. The stadium will host the 2005 and 2006 championship games as well.
"We're very excited to hold the championship games at The Joe," Section II Baseball Committee Chairman Ed Dopp said. "It is the premier baseball facility in the area. All 12 of our teams that played there last year had nothing but good things to say about the experience."
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 11,000 students each year.
