Cogan Hall Automotive Laboratory
Hudson Valley Community College campus
80 Vandenburgh Avenue, Troy

Bodine is coming to Hudson Valley Community College to thank students in the college’s Auto Body program for their work prepping his bobsleds for painting in the college’s Automotive Laboratory. The bobsleds were built by the Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project, an initiative started by Bodine after he learned the U.S. Olympic Bobsled Team was struggling with bobsleds modeled after European designs. Bodine got involved in 1992, applying his racing knowledge to design bobsleds that helped the team win four Olympic medals. For more information, visit

The bobsleds painted at Hudson Valley will be used in the second annual Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge, held in Lake Placid on Jan. 5 through Jan. 7, 2007. NASCAR drivers will race the bobsleds, raising money for the non-profit Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project to defray costs of building future bobsleds for the U.S. Olympic Team. The students’ work on the bobsleds, and the competition, will appear on taped segments for ESPN2 and SPEED.

DIRECTIONS: Enter the Hudson Valley Community College campus via South Road (the entrance across from the Country Grove restaurant). Follow South Road, which will curve to the right and become Williams Access Road. Take a left into the parking lot immediately after the road curves (just past the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium). Cogan Hall is the furthest building; park near the south end of the football field.
