Luck and Love

My horseshoe fell
from over the door.
I have a three-leaf clover
that once was a four.
A dark cloud hangs over me;
The lightning has struck
and I'm on my longest
streak of bad luck.
My rabbit's foot
has shed its hair.
The luck of the Irish
just isn't there.
Luck and Love
go hand and hand
like waves to ocean
and beach to sand.
Life is the sea.
Luck is the tide.
Life is a carnival
and love is a ride.
You're lucky if you love.
It doesn't happen twice.
So close to heaven
and almost paradise.
