Transfer Fairs

Student at Transfer FairThe Center for Careers and Transfer hosts two College Transfer Fairs during the academic year, one in the fall and one in the spring semester. Students and alumni may also be interested in attending transfer fairs hosted by other colleges throughout New York state. See the NYSTAA calendar for a schedule of transfer fairs.

Transfer fairs provide students with the opportunity to meet with transfer representatives from several institutions at one convenient time and location. Students can pick up catalogs, applications and other materials as available from the schools of their choice. It is also an opportunity to learn more about a particular school, the degree programs offered, admission criteria, etc.

Transfer College Visits to Campus

Information Tables

During the fall and spring terms, four-year college representatives visit our campus to meet with students who are interested in transferring to their institutions. Students may stop by the information table anytime during the scheduled visit to pick up catalogs, applications, or other materials offered. It also is an opportunity to ask specific questions about the college or university. Click here for some sample questions you may want to ask the transfer college representative.

All transfer college information table visits will be held on the first floor lobby of the Siek Campus Center, unless otherwise noted. Check the calendar often as it is constantly being updated.

Advisor in Residence Program

The Advisor in Residence program is similar to the transfer information table visits. It offers students another opportunity to meet with four-year college representatives to learn more about their institutions. However, this program is for students who are more decisive about transferring to a particular college or university. Students will be able to meet individually with the transfer college representative, by appointment only.

Scheduled appointments are generally 15-30 minutes, and students receive specific advisement about admission criteria, general education requirements, course recommendations and transfer of credit. Students are advised to bring an unofficial copy of their Hudson Valley Community College transcript so that the four-year college representative can provide a transfer evaluation of courses taken. Students can access and print a copy of their transcript from Hudson Valley WIReD.

All transfer college visits will be held outside of the Center for Careers and Transfer, located in the Siek Campus Center, room 290.

Appointments are required. For more information, or to schedule an appointment with a transfer college representative, contact the Center for Careers and Transfer at (518) 629-7326.
