Hudson Valley Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Columbia-Greene

Seven different players found the back of the net in Hudson Valley Community College’s (9-5-1) 8-0 win over Columbia-Greene Community College (1-11) in women’s soccer action today in Troy.
Hudson Valley scored six times in the first half. Sophomore Laurel Good (Brainard) led the way, scoring the first two goal of the game. Sophomore Brenna Mereness (Castleton/Maple Hill High School) had a goal and two assists.
Hudson Valley also received goals from Brittany Schuman (Schodack/Columbia High School), Kate Hanecak (Halfmoon/Mechanicville High School), Alyssa Cavosie (Waterford/Shenendehowa High School), Shannon Goyer (Petersburgh/Berlin High School), Sheri Griffin (Latham/Shaker High School) and Kelly Borden (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School).
The Lady Vikings have completed the regular season and will await the pairings for the NJCAA Region III Tournament. The seeds are expected to be released around noon on Wednesday, October 17.
