Hudson Valley Women's Soccer Advances in Region III Tournament

Freshman goalie Amy Logan (Menands/Shaker High School) made 13 saves to lead the Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Niagara County Community College (8-6) in the opening round of the NJCAA Region III Division III tournament in Troy.

Hudson Valley (9-6-1), the tournament's seventh seed, will travel to No. 2 Mohawk Valley Community College on Tuesday, October 26 for a quarterfinal game.

Sophomore Courtney Wilday (Galway/Galway high School) scored from 15 yards out to give Hudson Valley a 1-0 lead with 33:35 remaining in the game.

Freshman Dana Porcello (Waterford/Waterford-Halfmoon High School) gave the Lady Vikings an insurance goal when she took a pass from freshman Katie Howell (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville High School) and put it past Niagara goalie.
