O'Brien's Four Goals Lead Hudson Valley to Weekend Sweep

The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team took a big step towards making its second consecutive trip to the Region III Tournament with a pair of wins over the weekend. Hudson Valley (7-6-1) upset Cayuga Community College, 2-1, on Saturday, October 16, and defeated Finger Lakes Community College, 3-1, on Sunday, October 17.

Sophomore Liz O'Brien (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh High School) scored two goals in the Lady Vikings upset win over Cayuga (15-3), who entered the game ranked No. 5 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.

O'Brien scored two more goals, and freshman Marissa Miller (Schodack/Maple Hill High School) added a goal in Hudson Valley's win over Finger Lakes.

Hudson Valley will visit Columbia-Greene Community College at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19.
