Three Players Reach Double Figures
As Hudson Valley Improves To 6-2

Cobleskill, N.Y., November 29, 2001 – A 10-0 run midway through the second half propelled Hudson Valley Community College's women's basketball team to a 70-49 road win against Mountain Valley Conference foe SUNY Cobleskill. With 12 minutes remaining in the game, Cobleskill trailed by just nine points, but the Lady Vikings used an aggressive zone defense – Hudson Valley recorded 13 steals and seven blocks – to run away with the victory.

Hudson Valley, ranked fifth in the nation among Division III junior colleges, is now 6-2 overall. The loss drops Cobleskill to 0-6.

All-American Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn H.S.) led all scorers with 17 points. The Hudson Valley guard/forward also had nine rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks. Teammate Meghan Squires (Hoosic Valley H.S.) added 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Angela von Wergers (Bishop Gibbons) had 10 points and eight rebounds.
