Women’s Basketball Edged by Clinton

The Hudson Valley Community College women’s basketball team (4-15) lost to Clinton Community College (8-14) 53-51 on Wednesday evening.
The Vikings took the lead with a minute remaining in the fourth quarter, after Shelby Duggan (Watervliet/ Watervliet) capitalized on a three point play, putting the Vikings up 49-47. The Cougars answered with a quick three-pointer, pushing them past the Vikings with 40 seconds remaining. In the end, Hudson Valley’s full-court pressure could not rally past Cougars.
Duggan led the Vikings with 20 points, and Di'Aisa Smith (Troy/ Troy) contributed 12 in the loss.
The women host North Country on Saturday at 1 p.m.
