Women's Basketball Team Extend Win Streak to Six Games

The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team (9-5) improved their win streak to six games, beating Schenectady County Community College (1-8) 88-38 on Saturday, Jan. 15 at home. The Vikings jumped out to a 27-9 lead to open the game and never looked back. Erica Houle (Shaker/ Latham) converted on five three-pointers, leading the way with 19 points. Kelly Kell (Kingston/ Kingston) recorded a double-double, with 11 points and 10 assists, and Laurel Jicha (Hannibal/ Hannibal) also chipped in 17 points.

The Vikings improved their record to 9-5, while the Lady Royals of Schenectady fell to 1-8. The women's next game is on Monday, Jan. 17 against Tompkins Cortland Community College. They play at 1 p.m. in the first game of a men's and women's double header.
