Men's and Women's Basketball Snap Winning Streaks at Mohawk Valley

The Hudson Valley Community College men's (15-8) and women's (13-8) basketball teams traveled to pay at Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday, Feb. 6. The men were handed an 89-78 loss and the women went down to the number-four-ranked team in the nation, 59-45.
Ramel Alexander (Berkshire, Albany) had impressive outing for the Vikings as he scored 27 of his game-high 30 points in the second half. Steven Hunt (Tamarac, Wynantskill) added 12 points. The men were riding a four-game winning streak entering the contest.
The women had their own winning streak of eight games going in. Playing their best basketball of the season, they were leading 23-19 at the half. Mohawk Valley proved to be too deep and too tough on their home floor, winding up with the 59-45 victory. Sarah Carciobolo (Colonie, Colonie) had 16 points in the loss and Paige Colfer (Watervliet, Menands) added 12.
The men will be at Adirondack Community College on Monday, Feb. 8 and the women will be at home against Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
