Men's and Women's Basketball Return From Broome With Losses

On Saturday, Dec. 12, the Hudson Valley men's and women's basketball teams took on Broome Community College. They both suffered defeats at the hands of the Hornets. The men fell in a close game that came down to the wire, 64-61. The women dug themselves a large halftime deficit and were defeated, 76-61.

For the men, Ramel Alexander (Berkshire, Albany) once again led the Vikings in scoring and rebounding with 25 points and 15 boards. Steven Hunt (Tamarac, Wynantskill) nearly completed a double-double for the contest with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Notables for the women were Sarah Carciobolo (Colonie, Colonie), who led the Lady Vikings with 16 points. Stephanie Frederick (Greenville, Poughkeepsie) also got into double-figures with 12 points.

The women will not be back in action until after the new year when they take on Clinton Community College on Thursday, Jan. 7, while the men will close out the semester when they travel to Columbia-Green Community College on Monday, Dec. 14.
