Freshman point guard Megan Davis of Greenwich was recently presented with Hudson Valley Community College's President's Award for Hustle. The award is presented each year to the student-athlete whose hard work, determination, hustle and attitude have enabled them to make valuable contributions to their team.

In large part because of Davis's gritty play, Hudson Valley's women's basketball team posted a 24-3 record in 2000-01. In addition to routinely defending the opposing team's best offensive player, the 5-foot-4 Davis averaged 6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She also recorded 50 steals and made 67 percent of her free-throw attempts.

Davis came to Hudson Valley from Greenwich High School.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business, Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley Community College has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
