It was announced today that Hudson Valley Community College's 2000-01 women's basketball team established a new team free-throw shooting record. The Lady Vikings, who finished the season with a 24-3 record, shot 70.7 percent from the foul line, narrowly beating the old NJCAA Division III record (70.6 percent), which was established in 1997-98 by Fergus Falls Community College of Minnesota.

Additionally, freshman forward/guard Lindsey Bradt of Albany, the NJCAA Division III Region III Player of the Year, broke the individual mark, hitting 84.9 percent of her free-throw attempts. Joanne Ihrig of New Jersey's Ocean County College held the old standard (84.1 percent), done in 1997-98. Bradt came to Hudson Valley from Bishop Maginn High School.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business, Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
