Women’s Basketball Slips Past Jefferson

The Hudson Valley Community College (4-8) women’s basketball team snapped a six-game losing streak with a 66-63 win at Jefferson Community College Saturday.

Sophomore guard Erika Russo (Salem/Salem High School) led the way for the Vikings with 22 points and five rebounds. Sophomore guard Jenna Smith (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) hit four three-point baskets en route to 21 points. She also dished out four assists. Freshman forward Rachel Dooley (Grafton/Berlin High School) posted a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Hudson Valley returns to action at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11 when it hosts Schenectady County Community College.
