Hudson Valley Women’s Basketball Rallies to Beat Corning

The Hudson Valley Community College (2-2) women’s basketball team scored the final 14 points of the game to defeat Corning Community College (2-3), 55-50, this afternoon in Troy.

Hudson Valley trailed 50-41 with 3:35 remaining, but rallied to eventually take the lead. Freshman Char-Lee Frament (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) put Hudson Valley ahead 51-50 with a steal and a lay-up with 1:06 remaining in the game.

Freshman forward Amber Batzold (Albany/Columbia High School) led Hudson Valley with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Rachel Dooley (Grafton/Berlin High School) added 13 points and sophomore guard Jenna Smith (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) contributed 11 points and five steals.

Becky Dittler (Elmira Heights) paced Corning with 16 points.

Hudson Valley held a 52-35 rebounding advantage in the game.

The Lady Vikings return to action on Tuesday, November 13 when they visit Herkimer County Community College.
