Hudson Valley Women’s Basketball Loses to Albany Pharmacy

Sophomore Kelly VanValkenburgh (Hunter) hit four three-point baskets en route to 20 points in leading the Albany College of Pharmacy (1-0) women’s basketball team to a 57-44 win over Hudson Valley Community College (1-2) this evening in Troy.
Hudson Valley went on a 22-9 run in the second half to cut a 41-22 deficit to 50-44 with 2:35 remaining in the game. However, Van Valkenburgh had three steals and five points over the final two minutes to seal the victory for the Panthers.
Freshman Char-Lee Frament (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) and sophomore Jenna Smith (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) had 11 points apiece to lead Hudson Valley. Frament also had six rebounds.
Hudson Valley returns to action this Sunday, November 11 when it hosts Corning Community College at 1 p.m.
