Hudson Valley Women’s Basketball Captures Tournament With Win Over Schenectady

Sophomore forward Molly McGuire (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School) earned Most Valuable Player honors after leading the Hudson Valley Community College (2-0/1-0 Region III) women’s basketball team to a 57-48 win over Schenectady County Community College (1-1/0-1 Region III) in the championship game of the Viking Club Invitational.
McGuire led Hudson Valley with 16 points and 11 rebounds, including 13 points in the second half. Freshman Jackie Carraway (Troy/Lansingburgh High School) also was named to the All-Tournament after finishing the day with 11 points and five boards. Freshman Ryan Graham (Menands/Shaker High School) contributed 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals.
Freshman guard Shannon Snide (Colonie High School) and sophomore guard Nicole Pallotolo (Schenectady High School) were each named to the All-Tournament team for Schenectady. Snide had 11 points and Pallotolo contributed 17 points.
Hudson Valley and Schenectady will meet again at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8 in Schenectady.
