Entire Team Gets Into The Action As
Hudson Valley Downs SUNY Delhi, 77-50

Troy, January 22 – A handful of Hudson Valley Community College female basketball players hit double figures at Troy's McDonough Complex this evening as the Lady Vikings routed Mountain Valley Conference foe SUNY Delhi, 77-50. Perhaps more impressive than the effort of those five Hudson Valley players who scored 10 or more points, every Lady Viking reached the scoring column.

Hudson Valley, ranked first in the nation among National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III teams, is now 15-0. Delhi is 6-13.

The Lady Vikings were relentless in the beginning against Delhi, pressing and scoring 13 points in the game's first five minutes and 18 seconds without allowing a Delhi bucket. With head coach Colleen Ferris rotating players off the bench, Hudson Valley led 40-20 at halftime.

The scoring column read like this for Hudson Valley: Meghan Squires (Hoosic Valley), 14 points; Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn), 13 points; Kara Sheehan (Catholic Central), 13 points; Nicole Cotugno (Rensselaer), 11 points; Valerie Boyce (Schuylerville), 10 points; Megan Davis (Greenwich), five points; Gina Gorman (Watervliet), four points; Melissa Lappies (Troy), four points; and Meaghen Hampton (James J. O'Neill), three points.

Squires and Bradt each recorded a double. In addition to her 14 points, Squires had 12 rebounds and three steals. Bradt contributed 11 rebounds and four assists. Boyce kicked in four rebounds and four assists. Hampton led the Lady Vikings with six assists.
