Hudson Valley Women’s Basketball Defeats Adirondack

Sophomore forward Colleen Horan (Rotterdam/Mohonasen High School) filled up the stat sheet with 23 points, 17 rebounds, seven steals and five assists to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (8-16) women’s basketball team to a 59-45 win over Adirondack Community College (1-20) tonight in Troy.

Hudson Valley made only 24-of-89 (27.0 percent) shots in the game but came away with 36 offensive rebounds. Freshman Emily Vasquez (Schuylerville/Schuylerville High School) had 20 rebounds to go along with 13 points for the Lady Vikings. Freshman Kelley Barnes (Rotterdam/Mohonasen High School) had 10 points and 15 boards.

Freshman Ashley Truax (Bolton High School) led Adirondack with 22 points.

Hudson Valley (59): Kristene Longendyke 1-1-3, Natasha Sanchez 3-0-6, Colleen Horan 8-7-23, Emily Vasquez 5-3-13, Liz Ashline 2-0-4, Kelley Barnes 5-0-10, Totals: 24-11-59.
