Hudson Valley Women's Basketball Falls to No. 3 Mohawk Valley

The Mohawk Valley Community College (18-0) women's basketball team, which is ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, cruised to a 76-40 win over Hudson Valley Community College (4-14) earlier today in Troy.

Mohawk Valley shot a blistering 68 percent (13-for-19) from the field during the first 10 minutes of the game to take a commanding 32-9 lead.

Freshman Jessica Jenkins (Staten Island) led four Mohawk Valley players in double-figures scoring with 17 points in the game.

Freshman Kelley Barnes (Rotterdam Mohonasen High School) had 10 points and nine rebounds to pace the Lady Vikings.

Hudson Valley will host Tompkins Cortland Community College at noon tomorrow.
