Hudson Valley Community College's undefeated
women's basketball team will spend 90 minutes working with the Cohoes Middle
School's 7th and 8th grade girls hoop team on Thursday, January 11. The
clinic, which runs from 4:30 to 6 p.m., will take place at Cohoes Middle
The Lady Vikings (12-0) will run through drills
with the Cohoes youngsters, working on basketball skills and fundamentals.
Under the guidance of second-year head coach
Colleen Ferris, Hudson Valley is off to the third-best start in school
history. The team is ranked first in the most recent NJCAA Division III
Region III coach's poll. National rankings are due out January 8, and Hudson
Valley is expected to check in among the top 10 NJCAA Division III teams
in the nation.
Hudson Valley is led by first-year guard/forward
Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn), who is averaging 18.4 points, 6.8
rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Second-year guard/forward Kara Sheehan
(Catholic Central) is contributing 16.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per
The Lady Vikings next home game is scheduled
for 5 p.m. on Monday, January 15, against Adirondack Community College.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in
