Cobleskill Defeats Hudson Valley in Women's Basketball

Sophomore D.D. Smith (Monticello/Redemption Christian Academy) scored 11 of her game-high 19 points to lead the SUNY Cobleskill (9-1) women's basketball team to a 61-36 over Hudson Valley Community College (2-7) earlier tonight in Troy.

Cobleskill held Hudson Valley to just 21.4 percent (12-for-56) shooting in the contest. Hudson Valley made only one of its 11 shots in the final 10 minutes of the first half, which allowed the Tigers to go on a 16-2 run to take a 29-16 lead into the break.

Sophomore Tanisha McClinton (Poughkeepsie/Poughkeepsie High School) added 15 points for Cobleskill.

Sophomore Kristene Longendyke (Kingston/Kingston High School) paced Hudson Valley with eight points, six rebounds and four steals.
