Lady Vikings Fall to Broome

The Hudson Valley Community College (6-8) women's basketball team closed out the first semester with a 67-60 loss to Broome Community College (7-4) earlier tonight in Troy.

The game was tied at 57-57 with 5:23 remaining on the clock before Broome went on a 10-0 run over the final five minutes to seal the victory.

Freshman forward Kim Diemer (Guilford/Bainbridge-Guilford High School) led the Hornets with 16 points. Sophomore forward Rachel Saddlemire (Newark Valley/Newark Valley High School) added 11 points.

Sophomore forward Elizabeth Ferenczy (Coxsackie/Coxsackie-Athens High School) and sophomore guard Jocelyn Moy (Greenwich/Greenwich High School) combined to score 43 of Hudson Valley's 60 points. Ferenczy finished with 22 points and 19 rebounds, and Moy contributed 21 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.

The Lady Vikings will return to action at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 13 when they host Finger Lakes Community College.
