Women's Basketball Defeats Schenectady

The Hudson Valley Community College (3-1) women's basketball team raced out to a 24-0 lead and went on to defeat Schenectady County Community College, 66-33, on Wednesday night in Schenectady.

Sophomore guard Jocelyn Moy (Greenwich/Greenwich High School) had 16 points and nine assists to lead Hudson Valley. Freshman forward Elizabeth Ferenczy (Coxsackie/Coxsackie-Athens High School) finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, and freshman forward Kate Collins (Eagle Mills/Tamarac High School) added 14 points.

Hudson Valley returns to action at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16 when it hosts Herkimer County Community College.

Hudson Valley (66): Amanda Carroll 2-0-4, Kate Collins 6-2-14, Elizabeth Ferenczy 7-2-16, Eryn Hockler 2-0-4, Ronita McColley, Jocelyn Moy 8-0-16, Stacey Swan 3-0-6, Totals: 31-4-66.

Schenectady (33): Lipscomb 6-2-15, Czarnecki 4-0-11, Hannahs 2-1-5, Totals 12-3-33.
