Hudson Valley Beats Top-Ranked Broome, 65-57,
And Improves 2000 Record To 10-0

Troy, December 2 – With Broome Community College trailing by just two points and time winding down, Hudson Valley Community College's Nicole Cotugno (Rensselaer) stepped up and made several clutch baskets, sending the visitors home with a loss. Hudson Valley had led the Mountain Valley Conference matchup by as many as 11 points in the second half, but with 4:02 remaining, Broome pulled within two points, 54-52. That's when Cotugno went to work.

The five-foot-nine second-year forward drew a foul and nailed her first shot from the charity stripe. Her second attempt rattled out, but teammate Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn) grabbed the rebound and fed the ball to a driving Cotugno, who laid it in for two more points.

Cotugno, who scored all six of her points in the last 11 minutes, extended Hudson Valley's lead to 57-52 and helped the Lady Vikings push their unbeaten streak to 10 games. Hudson Valley defeated Broome 65-57.
