Lady Vikings Defeat Holyoke 79-70

Sophomore forward Megan Baldwin (Glenmont/Bethlehem High School) finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (11-8) women's basketball team to a 79-70 win over Holyoke Community College (8-5) earlier tonight in Troy. It was the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Hudson Valley held its largest lead, 65-53, with 7:09 remaining when an effective full-court press by Holyoke brought the Cougars to within five points, 67-62, with 4:06 left in the game.

However, sophomore forward Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) secured an offensive rebound and scored on each of the next three Hudson Valley possessions, which gave the Lady Vikings a comfortable 10-point lead they would not relinquish. Cowart finished the game with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Freshman guard Jocelyn Moy (Greenwich/Greenwich High School) finished in double-figures scoring for the 15th consecutive game with 19 points and four steals for Hudson Valley. Sophomore forward Amy Trowbridge (Chatham/Chatham High School) added 10 points and 12 boards.

Sophomore forward Danielle Dugre (Holyoke, MA) led Holyoke with 20 points.
