Lady Vikings Win Again, Improve To 7-0

Bradt, Boyce and Sheehan reach Double Figures As
Hudson Valley Runs Away From JCA, 63-40

    Troy, November 21 – Hudson Valley Community College's women's basketball team opened up this evening's non-league matchup against Division II Sage Junior College of Albany (JCA) with a 30-2 run. As the cliché goes, the Lady Vikings, ranked second among NJCAA Region III Division III teams, never looked back. Hudson Valley stayed perfect (7-0) with a 63-40 win.

    First-year guard/forward Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn) led all scorers with 16 points, despite sitting much of the second half as Hudson Valley head coach Colleen Ferris rotated in players off the bench. Bradt also contributed 10 rebounds. Another first-year guard/forward, Valerie Boyce (Schuylerville), kicked in 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.

    Kara Sheehan (Catholic Central) had 12 points for Hudson Valley and Meghan Squires (Hoosic Valley) had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists.

    While Hudson Valley improved to 7-0, the loss dropped JCA to 3-4.

    Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
