Hudson Valley Community College sophomore Tanya DeLaMater (Troy/Tamarac High School) has decided to continue her education and basketball career at Green Mountain College next year.

DeLaMater earned Second Team All-Mountain Valley Conference and All-Region III honors in 2003 after helping Hudson Valley post a 20-10 record. The 5-5 guard averaged a team-high 15.4 points and 5.4 assists per game. She finished her two-year Hudson Valley career with 653 points and 246 assists.

"Tanya has worked hard over the last two years to earn this opportunity," said Hudson Valley head coach Colleen Ferris. "She has been a large part of Hudson Valley teams that have combined for 47 wins over the last two years."

Green Mountain, located in Poultney, Vermont, is an NCAA Provisional school and is expected to earn NCAA Division II status next year. The Eagles finished 7-17 in 2002-03, playing a mixture of NCAA Division II and NAIA schools.

DeLaMater is the second Hudson Valley women's basketball player in as many years to commit to a Division II program. Lindsay Bradt, Hudson Valley's all-time leading scorer, is currently playing basketball at Saint Michael's College.
