Tanya DeLaMater, Carolyn Keeler Named to All-Tournament Team

The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team had two players named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Region III All-Tournament Team. Sophomore guard Tanya DeLaMater (Troy/Tamarac High School) was named to the tournament's First Team while sophomore forward Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) earned Second Team All-Tournament honors.

DeLaMater had 18 points and six assists to lead Hudson Valley to a 61-43 quarterfinal win over Corning Community College on Friday, February 28. She also had seven points and three assists in a 54-40 loss to Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Saturday, March 1.

Keeler finished with 11 points and nine rebounds against Corning and had a game-high 15 points against Fulton-Montgomery.

In the 2001-02 academic year, Hudson Valley's athletic teams combined to win 65 percent of their contests. The college's softball team traveled to Illinois for the national championship tournament and finished second in the country, and the women's basketball team placed seventh in the nation. Hudson Valley's football team won the Northeast Football Conference, and the baseball and bowling squads each added a Mountain Valley Conference title. Additionally, three Vikings earned Region III Player-of-the-Year status and eight were honored with All-American status.
