Lady Vikings Fall at Eighth Ranked Mohawk Valley

The Hudson Valley Community College (14-6) women's basketball team suffered a 57-54 setback at Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday, January 25. Mohawk Valley entered the game ranked eighth in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll.

Sophomore forward Angela Von Wergers (Albany/Bishop Gibbons High School) and sophomore guard Tanya DeLaMater (Troy/Tamarac High School) scored 15 points apiece to lead Hudson Valley. Sophomore forward Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) netted 13 points while freshman forward Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) added six points and 12 rebounds.


Hudson Valley (54): Carolyn Keeler 4-5-13, Casey Brinkman 1-1-3, Lindsay Frament 1-0-2, Latrice Cowart 2-2-6, Tanta DeLaMater 5-4-15, Angela Von Wergers 5-5-15, Totals 18-17-54.

Mohawk Valley (57): Bumbrey 5-3-15, Ringwald 1-7-9, Murray 0-2-2, Rotella 0-3-3, Gause 1-0-3, Bkare 7-5-19, Benanati 2-2-6, Totals 16-22-57.
