Lady Vikings Double-Up Delhi 74-37

Sophomore guard Tanya DeLamater (Troy/Tamarac High School) finished with 23 points, nine assists and six steals to lead the Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team to a 74-37 win over SUNY Delhi earlier tonight in Troy.

Hudson Valley has won five of its last six games to run its record to 12-5, and has defeated Delhi in 13 straight contests dating back to 1996.

Four Lady Vikings finished in double-figures scoring. Sophomore forward Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) had 16 points and nine assists. Sophomore forward Angela Von Wergers (Albany/Bishop Gibbons High School) tallied 13 points and seven rebounds while freshman forward Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) added 12 points and 11 boards.

Hudson Valley didn't allow a field goal during the first 10 minutes of the contest and held a 26-2 lead with 10:30 remaining in the first half.

Freshman forward Jennifer LePinnet (Walton/Walton High School) netted 24 points to pace Delhi (2-9).

Hudson Valley will play at Morrisville on Saturday, January 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
