Lady Vikings Down Cobleskill 59-29

Sophomore guard Tanya DeLaMater (Troy/Tamarac High School) finished with 22 points to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (8-4) women's basketball team to a 59-29 win over SUNY Cobleskill earlier tonight at the McDonough Complex in Troy.

Hudson Valley opened the second half with a 24-2 run that expanded a 25-16 halftime lead to 49-18 with seven minutes remaining in the contest.

Freshman forward Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) and sophomore forward Angela Von Wergers (Albany/Bishop Gibbons High School) controlled the boards for the Lady Vikings, bringing in 14 and 12 rebounds, respectively. Cowart added 10 points and three assists while sophomore forward Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) finished with 12 points and four assists.

Sophomore Danielle Woodbeck (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) and freshman Betsy Thering (Lyndonville/Lyndonville High School) had seven points apiece to pace Cobleskill (2-7).

Hudson Valley will travel to Corning, NY this weekend to play in the Tarentelli Classic. The Lady Vikings will face host Corning Community College on Friday, December 6 at 6 p.m. They will then meet Erie Community College on Saturday, December 7 at 3 p.m.
