Lady Vikings Hold Off Sage 61-57

Sophomore forward Angela Von Wergers (Albany/Bishop Gibbons High School) finished with 18 points and seven rebounds to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (7-3) women's basketball team to a 61-57 win over Sage College of Albany earlier tonight in Troy.

Freshman forward Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Vikings while sophomore guard Tanya DeLaMater (Troy/Tamarac High School) added 13 points and six assists.

Sophomore guard Deanna Higgins (Waterford) had a game-high 20 points to pace Sage (2-6). Sophomore forward Aimee Norton (Ravena) added 17 points, including 15 points in the second half.

Hudson Valley returns to action on Tuesday, December 3 when it hosts Fulton-Montgomery Community College at 7 p.m.
