Lady Vikings Fall at Dean 58-48

The Hudson Valley Community College (4-2) women's basketball team suffered a 58-48 loss at Dean College earlier today in Franklin, Massachusetts.
It was a match up of nationally ranked junior college teams as Dean entered the game ranked 16th in the NJCAA Division II preseason poll while Hudson Valley was ranked fourth in the Division III poll.
Sophomore guard Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes/Cohoes High School) finished with 16 points to lead the Lady Vikings. Sophomore guard Casey Brinkman (Troy/Troy High School) added 12 points while freshman forward Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) had nine points and 16 rebounds. Cowart has amassed 61 rebounds over the last four games for Hudson Valley.
Rosemary Perry (New Bedford, MA/New Bedford High School) finished with 22 points to pace Dean (5-0).
Hudson Valley will play its second straight game against a Division II school tomorrow, when it visits Community College of Rhode Island. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
