Lady Vikings Defeat Clinton 51-30

The Hudson Valley Community College (2-1) women's basketball team scored the first 15 points of the game and went on defeat Clinton Community College 51-30 earlier tonight at the McDonough Complex in Troy.

Angela Von Wergers (Albany/Bishop Gibbons High School) posted her second consecutive double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead Hudson Valley. Tanya DeLaMater (Troy/Tamarac High School) also had 16 points for the Lady Vikings while Latrice Cowart (Severn, MD/Meade High School) finished with six points and 11 boards.

Hudson Valley held the Cougars (0-1) off the scoreboard for the first seven minutes and 12 seconds of the game and took a 34-8 lead into the break. Clinton shot only 14.2 percent (7-for-21) from the floor in the first half.

Hudson Valley will travel to SUNY Canton this Saturday, November 9 for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
