For the second consecutive season, Hudson Valley Community College basketball standout Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn H.S.) has been honored with First Team All-American status. She helped Hudson Valley finish seventh in the nation this past season.

Bradt totaled 1,164 points in her two-year career, becoming the first female player to break 1,000 points at Hudson Valley. Bradt averaged 20.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game in 2001-02. A two-time NJCAA Division III Region III Player of the Year, Bradt helped Hudson Valley post a 50-11 record during her two seasons.

In 2000-01, Bradt made 84.9 percent of her free throw attempts, breaking the national record for Division III junior college players. Bradt, who is currently playing for Hudson Valley's nationally ranked softball squad, was named the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2001. She also is in the process of choosing a transfer college.

In the 2000-01 academic year, Hudson Valley's athletic teams combined to win 72 percent of their contests. The ice hockey team won the NJCAA championship, the baseball team earned a berth in the NJCAA World Series and the football team won the Region III title. The women's basketball team earned a No. 1 national ranking and turned in a 24-3 record while the men's hoop squad competed in the Region III championship game. Additionally, two Vikings earned Region III Player-of-the-Year status, 20 were named All-Region III performers, and 10 were honored with All-American status.
