Lady Vikings Defeat Delhi, 76-33

Troy, N.Y., February 14, 2002 – Hudson Valley Community College's women's basketball team opened up this evening's game against SUNY Delhi with a 12-0 run and rolled to a 76-33 victory. Playing at Troy's McDonough Complex, the Lady Vikings held Delhi to 12 second-half points.

Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn H.S.) – 22 points and 11 rebounds – and Angela von Wergers (Bishop Gibbons H.S.) – 11 points and 10 rebounds – each recorded a double-double for Hudson Valley. Bradt, who made 10-of-14 field goal attempts, also had five assists and five steals.

Three other Lady Vikings scored in double figures: Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes H.S.) had 13 points; Jill Valachovic (Schalmont H.S.) had 12 points; and Megan Davis (Greenwich H.S.) had 10 points. Davis also contributed nine steals and five assists, and Keeler had nine rebounds.

Amy Trowbridge (Chatham H.S.) grabbed nine boards for Hudson Valley.

Hudson Valley, which has won 12 of its last 13 games, is 19-4 overall. Delhi is 0-22.
