Five Players Score In Double Figures As Lady Vikings Roll;
Davis And Bradt Lead The Way Against Adirondack

Queensbury, N.Y., January 14, 2002 – En route to a 79-50 road win, Hudson Valley Community College's women's basketball team stormed out to a 14-0 lead against Adirondack Community College this evening. Five players – Megan Davis (Greenwich H.S.), Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes H.S.), Jill Valachovic (Schalmont H.S.), Tanya DeLaMater (Tamarac H.S.) and Lindsey Bradt (Bishop Maginn H.S.) – scored at least 11 points for the Lady Vikings.

Hudson Valley, ranked No. 6 in the nation among Division III junior colleges, is now 11-3 overall.

Bradt, the second-leading scorer in the country among Division III players, recorded her third consecutive double-double, picking up 20 points and 11 rebounds. She also had seven assists. Additionally, Davis had a stellar all-around game. Hudson Valley's starting point guard, she had 13 points, six assists, five rebounds and six steals. Davis hit her first six field goal attempts.

In the 2000-01 academic year, Hudson Valley's athletic teams combined to win 72 percent of their contests. The ice hockey team won the NJCAA championship, the baseball team earned a berth in the NJCAA World Series and the football team won the Region III title. The women's basketball team earned a No. 1 national ranking and turned in a 24-3 record while the men's hoop squad competed in the Region III championship game. Additionally, two Vikings earned Region III Player-of-the-Year status, 20 were named All-Region III performers, and 10 were honored with All-American status.
