Volleyball Wins Two Matches at Hawk Invitational

The Hudson Valley Community College (2-2) volleyball team split four matches at the Hawk Invitational on Saturday in Utica. Hudson Valley defeated SUNY Delhi, 30-26, 30-25, and Herkimer County Community College, 30-10, 37-39, 15-8, and lost to Fulton-Montgomery Community College, 30-22, 30-26, and Mohawk Valley Community College, 30-16, 30-20.

Freshman Jacqueline Zugzda (Perth/Broadalbin-Perth High School) was named to the All-Tournament Team after posting 16 kills, 19 service aces, and 30 digs on the day. Sophomore Rachel Bishop (Red Hook/Red Hook High School) had 21 kills, 13 service aces, and 22 digs. Freshman Colleen Horan (Schenectady/Mohonasen High School) led the Lady Vikings with 24 kills on the day.

Freshman Amanda Jeffes (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) set up Hudson Valley's offense with 75 assists.

Hudson Valley will return home to face SUNY Delhi at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15.
