Softball Team Splits Final Day in South Carolina

The Hudson Valley Community College softball team (6-2) lost to Potomac State (4-1) 9-1, but turned around and defeated Wells College (0-6) 13-4 on Wednesday, March 23.

Natalie Triano (Colonie/Albany) drove in the only run for the Vikings in the first inning against Potomac State. The team struggled offensively, producing no more runs after that. The Vikings came alive in the second game against Wells College, putting up 13 runs. Triano went 2-4 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Molly McDonough (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh) also went 2-4 from the plate with a two-run single. Cherish Kilventon (Cohoes/Cohoes) recorded her third win of the season.

The Vikings wrapped up their spring trip in Myrtle Beach, SC finishing 6-2, and hosts its first home game of the season against the Community College of Rhode Island on Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m.
