Lady Vikings Dismantle Saints of North Country

The Hudson Valley Community College softball team (6 - 4) got themselves above .500 with a huge offensive day against North Country Community College on Tuesday, April 13. The Lady Vikings defeated the Saints, 9 - 1 and 24 - 6.

In game one, pitcher Christina Dunton (Chatham, Chatham) threw a one-hitter and was supported offensively by the Lady Vikings bats. Molly McDonough (Lansingburgh, Lansingburgh) went three-for-three with a run scored and a stolen base, Megan Bailey (Columbia, West Sand Lake) hit a two-run homerun, and Stephanie Frederick (Greenville, Greenville) was two-for-three with two RBIs.

In game two, the Lady Viking offense exploded as they jumped all over the worn down North Country side early with a 5 - 0 lead in the first inning. The scoring wouldn't stop there as Hudson Valley posted 24 runs on the board by the end of the contest. Frederick was two-for-four with five RBIs and Bailey went three-for-five with four RBIs. McDonough also had another big offensive game, going two-for-three with three RBIs and a triple.
