Newburgh's Kim Liney Earns Postseason Softball Honors

Softball player Kim Liney of Newburgh was recently honored with First Team All-Mountain Valley Conference and Second Team All-NJCAA Division III Region III status. Hudson Valley Community College's starting right fielder, Liney helped the Lady Vikings post a 22-9 record with stellar play at the plate and in the field.

Playing in all 31 of Hudson Valley's games, Liney did not commit a single error. She also led the Lady Vikings with 42 RBI and a .423 batting average. Additionally, she contributed four doubles, seven triples and three home runs.

Liney, who just completed her first year at Hudson Valley, came to the college from Newburgh Free Academy.

Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy, offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions; Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 9,000 students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining.
