Troy's Tara Anthony Wins Hudson Valley's Citizenship Award

Softball player Tara Anthony of Troy was recently
presented with Hudson Valley Community College's Citizenship Award, which
is given each year to the individual who has made outstanding contributions
to the college's athletic department.
Anthony, who has worked for the athletic department
– doing everything from keeping statistics at games to selling raffle tickets
– is well-known and liked by both Hudson Valley's staff members and students.
A sophomore catcher, Anthony batted .412 this past season, helping Hudson
Valley's softball team post a 22-9 record.
Anthony also contributed 31 RBI, eight doubles,
five triples and a home run. A Troy High School graduate, she will attend
Cortland State next.
Hudson Valley Community College, located in Troy,
offers more than 50 degree and certificate programs in four academic divisions;
Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and
Liberal Arts and Sciences. One of 30 community colleges in the State University
of New York system, Hudson Valley has an enrollment of more than 9,000
students each year, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives
and worker retraining.
