Hudson Valley Softball Sweeps North Country

Sophomore pitcher Tracy Chesebrough (Duanesburg/Duanesburg High School) tossed a perfect game to lead the Hudson Valley Community College (3-10/2-0 Region III) softball team to an 11-0 win over North Country Community College (0-2/0-2 Region III) in the opening game of a doubleheader played today in Troy. Hudson Valley also took the second game, 19-1.

Chesebrough fanned 10 batters in five innings of work to pick up the win. She also hit a double and scored three runs. Freshman Kara Kolonsky (Stillwater/Stillwater High School) was two-for-three with a double and five RBI to lead the Lady Vikings offensive attack in the opener.

Hudson Valley pounded out 13 hits in the nightcap. Sophomore Talia Valenti (Troy/Troy High School) was three-for-four with three doubles and six RBI in the game. Sophomore Amanda Meher (Troy/Troy High School) and freshman Shana Flood (Glenmont/Bethlehem High School) each went two-for-three.

Hudson Valley will visit Columbia-Greene Community College on Tuesday, April 3 for a doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m.
