Hudson Valley Community College athletic director Drew Marrochello announced today that Charles Sosnowski of Hoosick Falls has been tabbed to lead Hudson Valley's softball team.

"We're tremendously excited to have a coach of Chuck's caliber at Hudson Valley," Marrochello said. "We've played against him, and it'll be good to have him on our side."

Sosnowski has compiled 107 wins while coaching junior college softball at Herkimer County Community College. He has lost just 34 games, giving him a .737 winning percentage, and has twice been named NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year.

In addition, Sosnowski led Herkimer to the NJCAA national tournament in 1996 and 1998. Herkimer finished fourth in the country both times. Sosnowski's squad captured the Mountain Valley Conference title three times during his tenure and won the Region III championship in 1996.

A 1990 SUNY Cortland graduate, Sosnowski has owned and operated CK Driveway Sealing and Asphalt Maintenance since 1996. He also has participated in several W.S.A. and A.S.A. Major "A" World and National championship tournaments as a player.
